If you have just bought or rented a new home and you have some of these energies, but you don’t know how to manage them, don’t worry, we will explain everything below.

How to manage the propane supply in your new home

Propane gas is a liquefied gas (LPG) that is obtained from oil and natural gas deposits, transforming it into a liquid for use and distribution. In particular, it is usually used in those areas that have a cold climate in winter and that do not have a natural gas distribution network.

This energy is sold in an individual 11 or 35 kg propane cylinder for each home, or through a community tank with the capacity to supply several points at the same time.

Change propane supply policy name

If your new home has a previous propane contract and has a supply, the policy ownership change will simply have to be carried out.

From then on, cylinders can be ordered by telephone and internet, or purchased at the LPG gas station itself. If it is piped propane, the invoices will reach the new owner within a maximum period of 20 days.

Turn on the propane gas supply

In the event that there is no active propane contract in the home and no supply is available, it will be necessary to present the following documents to the corresponding distributor to register:

Installation document and LPG devices
Photocopy of the ID of the owner of the supply
Certificate of Individual GAS Installation
Heating Installation Certificate
Housing address

Natural gas is cheaper than propane gas and has a higher calorific value, providing savings of up to €360 per year. It is distributed through the area’s distribution network, and is sold in the regulated market through the TUR rate and in the free market, which has a wide range of offers.

Currently, the One Gas rate stands out for its competitive contracting conditions and the possibility of unifying the supply of electricity and gas in a single bill. However, it is advisable to read opinions from Endesa and the rest of the marketers to make an informed decision.

Change the name of the natural gas contract

If the new home has a supply and we want to continue enjoying it, the following documentation will have to be presented to the chosen supplier, to carry out the change of ownership of the contract in our name:

Data of the previous and new contract holder: name, surname, ID and contact
IBAN account number to direct debit receipts
Gas CUPS and exact address of the home
Gas meter reading
